Today in class we reviewed how to punctuate dialogue. I handed out the following paper:
We talked about how dialogue does make your scenes become a bit more 3D. We talked about intensity in the events after the introduction and to get rid of things that do not talk specifically about an event. We talked about how one has to make the story come alive with 3D scenes. We talked about how to make our story better.
Then you sat with your partner and for six minutes you read your story to them. They were actively listening for the lead (intro. of character, setting and conflict), character development and change over time, being able to visualize the story, and be sure the theme of story and the conclusion are evident. Then you had two minutes to share with your partner your thoughts. Then we reversed roles.
Again, I am saying, READ YOUR STORY OUT LOUD TO AN ADULT TO HEAR YOUR ERRORS AND HAVE AN ADULT READ YOUR STORY OUT LOUD TO YOU!!!
1. Read and record your title, minutes and pages,
2. REVISE AND EDIT your story.
3. Punctuate the dialogue correctly in your story.
4. Sign someone up for the Blood Drive
YOUR STORY IS DUE AT THE END OF CLASS ON FRIDAY!!!
Have a great evening,
