Today in class you started out talking to your partner(s) about the two poems you had chosen and what you found. You shared about structure, word choice, tone, mood, figurative lang. and theme. Then we shared out loud some of the findings.
Next, we talked about the meaning of tone, we talked about the difference of tone and mood. I read a poem to you, and as I read it, you were to underline or circle words that help you to see the tone of poem. The poem was called "The Lake."
I also handed out a paper about Author's Attitude. After you circled the words that showed you tone, you now gave them a name from the Author's Attitude sheet.
If you were absent today, I have copies of both of these for you.
Then you looked at Google Classroom Day 2 Poetry. With your partners you decided which two poems you would read and find the tone in it. Also, you were to be aware of the theme in each of these poems.
1. Read and record your title, pages and minutes.
2 Read the two poems your partners decided today.
3. Bring earbuds or headphones to class.
