Classwork and Homework

Hello,
Today in class we went over how to complete a t-chart for figurative language. I used the "Rules of the Game" short story as an example. Last night you were to read with your focus on figurative language/author's craft. You were to fill in your chart for especially the two boxes repetition and literary devices. Then today in class you were to look at those boxes and create a t-chart. You needed four examples of figurative language with detailed explanations.

HOMEWORK:
1. Read and record your title, pages and minutes.

2. Be sure to fill in your scavenger hunt chart looking for all ten boxes in your reading. You are to be analyzing your story as you are reading it as opposed to just reading for the plot.

3. Finish four boxes of t-chart.

4. BOOK ORDERS are due 1/27. You can bring in one check with the orders or go on line and order. Scholasticbooks.com and use code: HC3C7.

Have a great evening,
Mrs. Downs
